Differences between restart and factory reset
Restarting and factory resetting your Mill will have different results.
Restart: This keeps all your settings, and it should reconnect to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever becomes frozen, has trouble connecting to the internet, or isn’t working normally.
Factory reset: This erases all your personalized settings, and restores the factory default settings. It won’t automatically reconnect to Wi-Fi, and you’ll need to set it up again.
How to Restart
Restarting your bin can be a helpful place to start:
- Unplug your bin
- Wait for 10 seconds
- Plug it back in
- Give your bin a few minutes to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network. This should happen automatically. You can check to see that it’s back online in the app.
How to Factory Reset
Only complete this once your bin's heat icon has turned off (it is cool).
Important: A factory reset permanently erases your personalized settings so we don’t recommend doing it until you’ve tried restarting your bin first.
- Your bin will forget the Wi-Fi network name and password, and will be “Offline” in the app.
- Your personalized settings will revert to default settings. This includes your Dry & Grind schedule, and lid lock preferences.
Here’s how to perform a factory reset:
- Go to settings in your Mill app , choose Device, and choose Factory reset and follow the instructions in the app
- Go through the pairing steps in the app to reconnect your bin
If your bin hasn't been paired yet, and you need to Factory Reset, follow these instructions:
-
- Unplug the power cord from the outlet.
- Press and hold the lid button (don't let go) while plugging the bin back in.
- Keep holding the button for about 15 seconds until you see a blue pulsing light, which lets you know it's ready to pair.
- Go through the pairing steps in the app to connect your bin.
