I’m getting an error message related to my bucket: Bucket Not Detected

If your Mill is indicating that the bucket isn't detected, it usually means there's a minor issue with its placement or that there are Food Grounds or scraps disrupting the bucket to heating plate connection.

Step 1: Clean your Mill contact points

Food residue, dust, or moisture can interfere with the sensors that detect the bucket.

  1. Remove the bucket and clear debris: Check for any stray Food Grounds or debris underneath the bucket and on the heating plate that might be preventing it from making a solid connection. Make sure it’s fully clean and dry.
  2. Clean the base: Use a clean, dry rag or brush to clear the surface inside the Mill where the bucket normally sits. The entire area including the gear housing sockets should be free of any stray Food Grounds.
  3. Clean the exterior of the bucket: Wipe the bottom exterior of the bucket to remove any debris.

Step 2: Reseat the bucket

  1. Firmly re-insert the bucket: Take the bucket completely out of the Mill bin. Place it back in, pressing down firmly to ensure it's sitting flat and is fully settled into the base. If the bucket still doesn't settle and the lid isn't closing, try turning the grinding paddles by hand while the bucket is in the bin.
    • The bucket doesn't have a left or right, it can put back in either way. The handle can also rest in either direction.

Step 3: If the app error persists, reset your scale

  1. Take the bucket out
  2. If you used the foot pedal to open the bucket, take your foot off the pedal
  3. Make sure you’re not pressing the lid button and that there’s nothing on the lid
  4. With the lid closed and bucket out, wait ~10 seconds
  5. Put the bucket back in
