Mill Essential and Mill Plus
You can start and stop a cycle from the lid button on the Mill (or in the app). To do so:
- If the Mill is unlocked, double tap the button.
- This will always be the step for Mill Essential as there is no lock feature on it.
- If the Mill is locked, you'll need to unlock the Mill first. To unlock the lid, press then press-and-hold the lid button for 3 seconds (short tap, long press). The lid will stay unlocked for 4 seconds. Then double tap the button.
Mill 1st gen.
You can start and stop a cycle from the lid button on the Mill (or in the app). To do so:

- If you have lock setting as "Always locked," you'll need to unlock the Mill first. To unlock the lid, press-and-hold the lid button for 3 seconds (long press). The lid will stay unlocked for 4 seconds. Then double tap the button.
Tips:
- You don't need to stop a cycle to add more scraps. Simply unlock the lid of your Mill 1st gen. or Mill Plus and add more. Learn more how to unlock your Mill here.
