- Colors: Mill Essential is available in white, while Mill Plus is available in White, Stainless Steel and Matte Black
- Height: With the lid closed, Mill Essential is 23” tall and Mill Plus is 27” tall
- Lock: Mill Essential does not have a lid lock, Mill Plus has a child and pet safety lock
- Lid: Mill Essential has a lift to open, stay-open lid, Mill Plus has a foot-pedal for opening the lid hands-free
- Carbon Filter Lifespan: Mill Essential’s filter lasts up to 6 months, Mill Plus’ filter lasts up to 12 months
- Carbon Filter Replacement: Mill Essential's filter is refillable, Mill Plus’ filter is replaceable
