While it's possible there may be some nutrients lost in the dehydration process, the benefit of dehydration is that it largely retains a food's nutritional value while also preventing bacteria and mold growth. We've found that the Food Grounds we receive are still full of nutritional value. One of the reasons they are suitable as a poultry feed ingredient is because (when many households’ Food Grounds are aggregated) they have a nutritional profile comparable to poultry feed.
