This can happen from time-to-time based on the weight and estimated moisture of your food scraps. This is why we suggest running the bin overnight. If you need to further troubleshoot:
Here are things to check first
- Make sure the bucket and heating plate are in good contact. If food is obstructing the connection between the heating plate and bucket, the heating won't be even.
- Clean the area underneath the bucket with a damp cloth or vacuum
- Clean the underside of the bucket with a damp cloth
- Make sure the lid can close
- Don't overfill the bucket
- If food scraps are preventing the lid from closing, you can use the lid lock to keep it closed. Go to the app > Home > Menu (top right) > Device > Lid lock and choose ""Always locked"". You can change it back after the cycle finishes
- If the lid is still having trouble staying closed, put a weight on top of the lid OR consider removing some scraps for the next cycle
- Make sure the dust filter is clean
- It's on the left side of the bin after you open the lid and bucket cover.
- You can wipe it with your finger or remove it to clean
