Mill has a multifaceted approach to ensuring the commercial feed ingredient it produces is safe for chickens. We have a robust Food Safety Plan at our feed manufacturing facility, as required by the Food Safety Modernization Act.

- Food Library (in app): Our comprehensive Library gives guidance on what can and cannot go in the Mill.

Bin: Mill dries, grinds and heats all food each night which reduces pathogens.
Inspection: Every box of Food Grounds is inspected when it arrives at our facility. - Manufacturing and testing: Our facility cleans the Food Grounds, and has a final microbial control step (where pathogens are again reduced). We also run nutritional and toxicological tests on the final feed ingredient.
- Ingredient inclusion: Our final product is a feed ingredient, not a full feed. This means it can be added at a select inclusion rate that meets a chicken’s nutritional needs to contribute to a balanced diet.
