You have 3 options for how you would like your lid to lock on your bin
1. Always unlocked
2. Locked when running
3. Always locked
You can change this setting any time in the app. Open the app > Kitchen bin (bottom tab) > Menu (top right) > Device > Lid lock.
Using "Always unlocked"
Your bin will always be unlocked even when its running. You'll want to be mindful that the bucket and its contents can be hot while a cycle is running and that with this setting on, anyone could open the lid.
Tip: Make sure not to overfill the bucket or chop up large items. When the grind motors turn, it might push those scraps upwards into the lid, causing the cycle to stop. Alternative, if you have a very fully bucket, before the cycle starts, change your setting to Always locked.
Using "Locked when running"
Your bin will lock itself when a cycle is running.
