Our priority is to keep food out of landfills and in the food system.
When we receive Food Grounds at our facility, we screen for anything a chicken can’t eat (like the produce sticker you forgot to take off your banana or the twist tie from your cilantro bunch). If it's all clear we get to work turning it into food for chickens.
If a batch of Food Grounds don't meet our quality standard, at a minimum, they will be composted and kept out of landfills.
We are actively researching other potential pathways for Food Grounds that don’t meet our quality standards. If you have ideas or want to partner, contact us!
